Quick Look at Radar

Brian is putting the finishing touches on the morning forecast discussion I see, but here is a quick look at the radar at 7:35.

The northwestern quarter of the state is under the SPC’s general risk for severe weather, a slight risk today. A tornado watch is in effect for the Shoals area.

Since this system is a slow mover, heavy rain will be a big threat with this system, as well as severe storms. With all the warm, moist air in place, if temperatures can warm into the lower 80s today as expected, strong to severe storms will break out.

Keep a good source of weather information handy throughout the weekend and check the latest weather forecasts, watches and warnings frequently.
