Late Morning Alabama–10 o’clock Report

| March 25, 2010 @ 10:06 am | 6 Replies

A broad zone (sort of a wide line) of showers continues over West Alabama northeastward into North Central and Northeast Alabama. This includes some moderate to heavy showers from North Jefferson County northeastward. The heaviest showers were over Cullman, Marshall and Dekalb County.

Movement of all showers steadily toward the northeast.

Lightning activity has diminished.

The best organized line of showers and storms was from Central Mississippi, west of Meridian southwestward into SE Louisiana between Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

ALABAMA SEVERE WEATHER?
The Storm Prediction Center continues a “slight risk” designation for about the north 2/3rds of Alabama roughly from about the Montgomery-Livingston line northward. That will be mainly for this afternoon and evening. At this time, it does not appear to be a serious threat although I know that any severe thunderstorm is serious.

We will W&W (Watch and Wait)l…and drink more coffee!
