8 am Progress Report on Storms

Remainder of morning drive for BHM Metro should be OK although all
roads are wet from lighter rain earlier. However, some heavy showers
with some thunderstorms extended across NW and West Alabama mainly
from Winston County down across Walker County into Pickens County.

At one time the Storm Prediction Center had reduced the area under a
slight risk in Alabama to areas mostly west of I-65. They updated that
outlook to include the entire north 2/3 of Alabama
from about Livingston and Montgomery northward. This, of course all of the BHM Metro area and all of North and Central Alabama.

We will be on watch all day but we believe the better chance for our
area to come under the gun will be this afternoon and evening. Even
so, we could get some locally heavy rain from the West Alabama showers
and storms within the next two hours or so.
