…and that means I can’t either.

At 2:40 am, numerous showers and storms continue to pound away early on this Wednesday morning across a broad part of Central Alabama. They extend all the way over into West Georgia and back to the west into Central Mississippi. Now a new storm developing in Louisiana.

Here in Alabama, it is almost like the storms want to use I-20/59 as their main route and about 50 miles either side. Lightning detection equipment shows much lightning across Central Alabama in these storms.

Stephen Pridmore, ABC 33/40 Skywatcher for Montevallo in Shelby County reports that he and his wife has jumped at least 15 times in the last hour because of the frequent lightning and very loud thunder.

The storms are dumping very heavy rain especially from Shelby County southward to near Montgomery and west to east from the Mississippi border to the Georgia border.

So far there has not been a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued in Alabama. In fact, the last Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued at 2:24 yesterday afternoon by NWS/Jackson for the Meridian area. But check this out:
