Lightning/Thunder in Middle of the Night

| March 10, 2010 @ 12:38 am | 3 Replies

Showers and thunderstorms continue to favor Alabama very early on this dark Wednesday morning. The rumble of thunder is keeping some folks awake and, for sure, Little Miss Molly, my dog. She has made several round trips to hide under the bed.

At 12:40 am, there were numerous showers in a wide band from East Mississippi all across Central Alabama to the Georgia border. The broad band of storms was bordered on the north by Fayette, Birmingham and Gadsden and on the south by Montgomery (approximately)

There was considerable lightning from Central Mississippi to Central Alabama.

The storms are not severe. In fact, the last Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued at 2:24 yesterday afternoon by NWS/Jackson for the Meridian area.
