…Tornado watches number 1 and number 2 of 2010 continue tonight across southeastern Oklahoma, eastern Texas, southern Arkansas, Louisiana and southern Mississippi. The tornado threat in eastern Texas is winding down right now, but will continue over Louisiana, southern Arkansas, Central and Southern Mississippi overnight. Expect new watches by 9:30 p.m.
…The NWS in Shreveport indicates that damage reports are starting to come in from the south side of Tyler, TX. That storm is in the Longview area at this time.
…No tornado warnings now to the west of Alabama…but there are several severe thunderstorm warnings from southern Oklahoma across NE Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and into western Mississippi.
…There is damage on I-20 in east Texas, at both Canton and Waskom. Power lines and trees are down, vehicles overturned, and buildings are damaged. A Shreveport television station is showing a photo that indicates it was a definite tornado.
…The severe weather threat will extend into western Alabama later tonight as a big warm front lifts northeastward ahead of a strong disturbance over Oklahoma and Texas. The main threat for severe weather will be from Muscle Shoals to Birmingham to Montgomery…Increasing low level shear means that we could see an isolated tornado or two over into extreme West and Southwest Alabama…mainly from Sumter County to the south overnight…

…The NWS in Birmingham has requested spotter activation from Alert starting at 10 p.m. tonight through the overnight hours.
…A solid area of rain covers the southern half of Alabama…expect 1.50 inches of rain overnight in the I-59 corridor…less to the north…up to 3 inches the further south you head.
