Dense Fog Overnight

| January 18, 2010 @ 12:25 am | Reply

As skies clear tonight, temperatures are cooling quickly to within a couple of degrees of the dewpoints over much of Alabama.

Fog is forming across much of the area, and will become quite dense over the next few hours, especially over western sections.

The NWS has issued a dense fog advisory for Fayette, Greene, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, Walker and Winston Counties till mid-morning.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see it extended to other areas as well, including the Birmingham metro.

Be alert to fog if you must drive early this morning. Fog will reduce visibilities to near zero at times. Allow extra time if you will be driving. Do not follow too closely. Use low beams.
