Christmas Week Weather Update

Just a quick note to let you know that the 12Z GFS model run does not seem to have made any major changes to the overall look for the upcoming Christmas week.

There still appears to be good potential for rain on Wednesday and Thursday with the cold front moving through Central Alabama in the early morning hours of Christmas Day. Cold air advection should be occurring on Christmas Day so we are not likely to see temperatures climb at all. In fact, it could be one of those days where the temperatures hover in the 40s.

Monday and Tuesday still appear dry with temperatures warming toward the 60-degree mark for highs. Clouds and perhaps some rain ahead of the developing storm system Wednesday will hold temperatures down somewhat. And we are still watching the potential for severe weather late Wednesday into Thursday, so be sure to keep that in mind. If anything, it appears that the latest model run might be a tad slower with our main rain event coming Thursday late morning to evening.
