Quick Late Night Update–11:15 Report

Around 11 tonight rain was widespread across at least the south half of Alabama. In the Birmingham area, the rain has been light so far.

Moderate to heavy rain was over a good part of South Central and South Alabama. Some of the heaviest was between Montgomery and Monroeville. Heavy rain has been reported at times in the Mobile area.

Hourly reports at 11 pm showed a steady rain in Mobile, Greenville, Evergreen, Troy, Dothan and Gulf Shores. Heavy rain was reported at Greenville.

The rain continues to spread slowly northward.

The low pressure area that formed over the NW Gulf of Mexico was near the coast late tonight, centered SE of New Orleans. There was also a cluster of thunderstorms over South Mississippi.
