Monday Evening in Alabama–7:15 Report

Scattered light showers now occurring over NW Alabama. Mainly in the Florence-Huntsville-Cullman Triangle.

To the west, there was a ;ine of showers at 7:15 that extended down the east side of Mississippi from Tupelo down to Meridian and Hattiesburg.

Slow eastward movement. The showers are along and ahead of a cold front advancing east across Mississippi. The front was between Tupelo and Columbus, between Jackson and Meridian,

7 pm temperatures were in the 40s across Arkansas and much of Louisiana and as low as 37 at Fayetteville, Ark., home of the University of Arkansas.

Back home in Alabama, there will be some scattered showers tonight and a few on Tuesday. High Tuesday will back off to the upper 50s in the Birmingham area. Some highs this afternoon:

69 in Anniston
71 at Birmingham Airport
73 in Tuscaloosa
