An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player below. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

MILD DAYS, COOL NIGHTS: No weather change through the weekend; sunny mild days and clear cool nights with occasional streaks of high cirrus clouds. Highs in the mid 70s, lows in the 40s. Doesn’t get much better than this around here in mid-November.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: Still a number of high school playoff games scheduled for tonight. It would be difficult to improve on the game-time weather. Generally clear and dry for all stadiums with little or no wind. Temperatures in the 60s at kick off, falling into the 50s for the second half and some upper 40s by the fourth quarter. Lots of college games around the region Saturday. In Alabama, Tennessee Tech will be at Jacksonville State. Jackson State will be at Alabama A&M and Concordia at Stillman. Most of the games have a midday or early afternoon kick off. Look for low to mid 70s during the game, but 60s by the fourth quarter. Night games include Auburn at Georgia with a 6:00 p.m. kick off. Clear weather, in the 60s, dropping into the 50s and even into the 40s by the fourth quarter. Alabama travels west to Starkville to play Mississippi State. They are expecting the biggest crowd ever for a football game with a 6:00 p.m. kick off. Clear with temperatures in the 60s at the beginning, dropping into the 50s and eventually into the upper 40s by the fourth quarter.

NEXT WEEK: Sure looks like we can drop any mention of rain Monday through Wednesday. The GFS had trended drier and drier in recent days, holding the rain well to the west of Alabama during the first half of the week. A stronger short wave could bring showers and storms by Friday and Saturday (11/20-21), but confidence in a specific forecast is low with the recent model madness. See the Weather Xtreme video for more details.

STORM ALERT XTREME IS TOMORROW: Want to be trained as a storm spotter? Want to join the ABC 33/40 Skywatcher team? Our annual training event, Storm Alert Xtreme, is tomorrow at the BJCC during the annual Birmingham International Auto Show. You will be trained by the best SKYWARN trainer in the nation, our own Brian Peters (he has trained over 6,000 Alabama storm spotters over the years). We encourage all of our Skywatchers to attend this every year; you simply cannot get enough training. We will begin at 9:30, and be out by 2:30. And, everyone that attends Storm Alert Xtreme gets free admission to the Alabama International Auto Show. There is no admission charge, and no need to register. Just show up, but get there early for a good seat. We had a packed house last year.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left.

My next Weather Xtreme video will be posted by Monday morning at 7:00… Brian Peters will have the video updates tomorrow and Sunday. Enjoy the weekend!
