A Genuine Statewide Soaking

Well, almost but not quite. The 0.25 at Troy, for example, would not be a “soaking”

But a huge percentage of the state received well over one inch and a number of places over two inches. It was a steady soaking rain and lasted for hours.

As Bill pointed out late last night, at 11:01 pm, the Birmingham Airport had accumulated 53.99 inches for 2009. That is exactly the average annual rain for Birmingham and this year we got it in 277 days!

* Vic Bell sends a very interesting comment that Scrougeout has received 62.38 since January 1 but an amazing 80.52 inches in the last 12 months (since this same date in 2008!
