Grace Forms – No Threat to US

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has issued the first advisory on Tropical Storm Grace which has formed about 420 miles northeast of the Azores. Grace is moving toward the northeast, so it is no threat to the United States. And in this position, Grace is not likely to have a very long life as it gets absorbed by a non-tropical low in 24 hours or so.

MILES…675 KM…NORTHEAST OF THE AZORES.

GRACE IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTHEAST NEAR 25 MPH…41 KM/HR…AND
THIS GENERAL MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE DURING THE NEXT DAY OR
SO.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 65 MPH…100 KM/HR…WITH HIGHER
GUSTS. WEAKENING IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS AND GRACE IS
EXPECTED TO BE ABSORBED BY A LARGE NON-TROPICAL LOW PRESSURE AREA
OVER THE NORTHEASTERN ATLANTIC MONDAY NIGHT OR TUESDAY.
