Big Storms South Central Alabama

Big storms are ongoing over South Central Alabama at this hour.

They are approaching Greensboro in Hale County.

It is pouring now along with lots of lightning from north of Linden to south of Marion.

These cells are the northern guard of a large area of rain and storms over Southwest Alabama that is moving generally eastward as new cells merge into the area from the east.

North Central Alabama is generally quiet, with some lingering moderate rain over southern Tuscaloosa County, extending into far Southwest Jefferson County.

The earlier storm in Tuscaloosa County dumped 2.70 inches of rain in Samantha in northern Tuscaloosa County according to Alice, the ABC3340 Skywatcher there.

Doppler radar indicates that there may have been 3-4 inches of rain south of Haleyville in Northwest Alabama from morning storms.
