Alabama This Evening–7:30 Report

Plenty of showers still in progress across Alabama this evening. However, the clusters of really heavy rain has thinned somewhat.

At 7:20 pm, the strongest storms (and heaviest rain) was across Sumter, Marengo, Dallas and Elmore County. Bunches of mean lightning involved also.

A Significant Weather Alert is posted for Montgomery and Elmore County until 7:45.

A long way off, rain was still heavy over part of Jackson County in the NE corner of Alabama.

Meanwhile, Vic Bell, 3340 Skywatcher for Scrougeout in NE Etowah County reported a mere 0.06 from all these storms. The 33/40 observer for Oxford had almost two inches. Haleyville received 0.84 and Coker, in Tuscaloosa County 0.60

DAMAGE REPORT
At 7 pm, the Elmore County EMA reported trees down along Leland Road one mile north of Wetumpka

Bobby Tinney, 3340 Skywatcher for Maplesville reports a gust to 52 mph and one-half inch of rain. Still thunder and lightning in progress at 7:25 pm. He describes the lightning as “wicked”
