GREATER BIRMINGHAM AREA
No real threatening storms for the greater Birmingham area at the moment. All of the more intense thunderstorms have moved up into North Alabama where a number of Severe Thunderstorm Warnings are in effect.

REST OF NORTH ALABAMA
Just to name a few, Severe Thunderstorm Warnings continue for Lawrence and Morgan Counties until 7:15.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning continues for Lamar, Marion and Winston Counties until 7:45.

NWS/Huntsville canceled the Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Cullman County at 6:58.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning continues for Franklin County until 7:45.

MEMPHIS
Apparently some significant damage occurred in Memphis this afternoon when a tornado touched down. A photograph of the tornado in progress is on the ABC 33/40 Weather BLOG. You may have to scroll down a way to see it due to the heavy traffic. The NWS in Memphis has another Tornado Warning for SW Chester County in North Hardeman County, both in SW Tennessee until 7:30. This is based on a radar indication of a tornado near Bolivar and moving NE at 35.

NEW WARNING FROM NW ALABAMA
NWS/Huntsville just issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Colbert and Lauderdale Counties until 8:00 p.m. and another warning for Jackson, Limestone, Madison and Morgan Counties until 7:45.
