* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR…
SOUTHWESTERN MARION COUNTY IN NORTHWEST ALABAMA…
THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF HAMILTON…
LAMAR COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA…
THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF…VERNON…SULLIGENT…MILLPORT…
NORTHWESTERN PICKENS COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA…

* UNTIL 700 PM CDT

* AT 606 PM CDT…THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DETECTED A LINE OF
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS
OF 60 MPH. THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM
20 MILES SOUTHWEST OF BEDFORD TO 14 MILES NORTHWEST OF
ETHELSVILLE TO 8 MILES WEST OF ETHELSVILLE…AND MOVING
NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH.

* OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
KENNEDY…LAMAR COUNTY AIRPORT…BLOOMING GROVE…CREWS…DETROIT
AND BEAVERTON

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH…PREPARE
IMMEDIATELY FOR DAMAGING WINDS…DESTRUCTIVE HAIL…AND DEADLY CLOUD
TO GROUND LIGHTNING. PEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVE TO A SHELTER…
PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING BUT AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

WIND DAMAGE WITH THIS STORM MAY OCCUR WELL AHEAD OF ANY RAIN OR
LIGHTNING. DO NOT WAIT FOR THE SOUND OF THUNDER BEFORE TAKING COVER.
SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY INSIDE A STURDY STRUCTURE AND STAY AWAY FROM
WINDOWS.
