What is this? The fifty sisxt derecho we’va had this year?

It truly has been the year of the derecho.

This one has uprooted thousands of trees across Alabama, much like its predecessors.

Severe thunderstorm warnings continue in effect for Chambers, Lee, Maocn, Montgomery, Lowndes, Dallas, Pike, Bullock Barbour, Russell and Lee Counties.

A large area of moderate to heavy rain covers the eastern half ofthe state.

The rain has ended in the Birmingham area. The flash flood warning has expired.

A flash food warning remains in effect for Shelby, St. Clair and Talladega Counties. Rainfall continues to diminish over these counties, but flooding will continue in some spots for a little while longer.

There are some light showers showing up over eastern Mississippi. It remains to be seen whether those showers will affect any parts of Central Alabama.
