A Quick 4:35 p.m. Update

That lone remaining thunderstorm that moved out of SE Shelby County into NE Chilton County is now over far SE Chilton County east of I-65 near the Verbena community. It has weakened considerably. Outflow from that storm has triggered another one further SE near where Chilton County intersects with the NW corner of Elmore County. Neither of the storms are very strong anymore.

The storm was at its strongest when it moved through the Calera area earlier in South Shelby County. Lots of lightning, heavy rain, strong winds gusting over 40 and even some hail was reported as it passed through Calera.

All of the other big storms have moved over into Georgia, so this will be our last update unless something re-develops. Time for a 23-minute power nap and a cup of coffee.
