Shelby County Storm

It is a lone storm over the south edge of Shelby County near the Calera exit on I-65.

We have received reports from that area of a number of wind gusts estimated over 40 mph and possibly 50 mph. Lots of lightning and downpours of rain.

Fortunately the storm is relatively small. It will continues moving SE passing near the Shelby Community is Extreme SE Shelby County and to near Union Grove in NE Chilton County.

Most of the other big storms have moved into NW and West Georgia.

The Storm Prediction Centered has extended a slight risk area southward into parts of Central Alabama for the remainder of this afternoon and evening.
