Short line of intense thunderstorms over NW Alabama extends from Lawrence County down across Marion County into Northeast Mississippi about midway between Columbus and Tupelo.

Lots of lightning.

These will be spreading into Winston County soon.

Further west, numerous strong to severe thunderstorms over Arkansas. These are the strongest ones.

Everything moving generally eastward.

These storms are capable of dumping very heavy rain at the rate of 1 to 3 inches per hour. Watch out for some flash flood problems.

Tornado Watch continues until 6 am for South Arkansas and North Mississippi.

We are watching for the possibility of a watch for North Alabama. Virtually all of Alabama is listed as a slight risk of severe weather today (Wednesday) by the Storm Prediction Center.
