Late Night Heads Up

Strong storms are over Northern and Central Mississippi late tonight.

Several severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect.

Storms are intensifying from Fulton to Tupelo to Winona.

More severe storms are back over the Delta counties of western Mississippi.

They are already into Northwest Marion and Southwest Franklin Counties between Bexar and Vina. Lots of lightning with these cells.

An upper level jet stream speed maximum is moving across Mississippi and the airmass over Alabama is destabilizing. This will lead to strong to severe storms overnight. Large hail will be a big threat, as well as damaging winds. Already seeing lots of lightning and there will be heavy rain.

A severe thunderstorm watch is being contemplated by the Storm Prediction Center.

Make sure your Weatheradios are on overnight.
