* Hottest place in the good ole USA today was places not normally bestowed that honor. It was 97 in Leesburg, Virginia and Toms River, New Jersey.

* Coldest this morning, not counting Alaska, was 11 at Yellowstone Lake inside Yellowstone National Park. And winter, is not over at that place!

* 8 to 12 inches of snow is in the Yellowstone forecast during the next 2 or 3 days.

* Big bad storms roaming the plains dumped 4.76 inches of rain on Wichita during the last 24 hours. Topeka was drenched with 2.61 inches.

* Well to the south, in San Angelo, Texas, there was 2.88 inches. That area was in the market for some more rain.

* 8 percent was how much of the Lower 48 had a snow cover this morning. That compares to 29 percent one month ago today.
