Local NWA Chapter Welcomes Executive Director
The Central Alabama Chapter of the National Weather Association welcomed NWA Executive Director Steve Harned to its quarterly meeting April 23rd.
Mr. Harned was in Birmingham to scout hotels and other facilities in the Magic City to help him make his recommendation to the NWA Council about the site of the 2011 NWA Convention.
Brent Cotton of the Greater Birmingham Convention and Visitors Bureau drew up an excellent itinerary for Mr. Harned that highlighted some of the best assets of our city.
Mr. Harned was the featured speaker for the meeting, which was held at the Summit Club downtown. Dr. Tim Coleman gave a special presentation on the wake low/gravity wave event across Alabama on April 12-13.
