…SEVERE WEATHER APRIL 19TH…

ON APRIL 19TH, SEVERAL BANDS OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPED
DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON AND LASTED INTO THE EVENING HOURS. THESE
THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCED SEVERAL POTENTIAL TORNADOES, LARGE HAIL,

DEVELOPED AHEAD OF A STRONG COLD FRONT THAT PUSHED EASTWARD INTO

OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS, NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE STORM SURVEY
TEAMS WILL CONDUCT DAMAGE ASSESSMENTS IN SEVERAL LOCATIONS.
POTENTIAL TORNADIC STORMS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED IN NEWBURN IN HALE
COUNTY, PHENIX CITY IN RUSSELL COUNTY, PELHAM AND ALABASTER IN
SHELBY COUNTY, AND HIGHLAND LAKES IN BLOUNT COUNTY. WHEN THE EXACT
PLANS ARE DETERMINED FOR TODAY, AN ADDITIONAL STATEMENT WILL BE ISSUED.

ADDITIONAL PUBLIC INFORMATION STATEMENTS WILL BE ISSUED PERIODICALLY
THROUGH THE DAY, AS SURVEYS TEAMS EVALUATE AND COMMUNICATE THEIR
FINDINGS. FOR UP TO DATE STORM REPORTS, PLEASE VIEW THE LOCAL
