Weather Settling Down Temporarily

After the active day we had yesterday the weather is settling down a bit today and Monday but the overall pattern will remain active with three systems to deal with in the next week.
As the upper closed low and the surface low head away from Alabama, we have returned to much cooler air with breezy conditions today. The afternoon highs will be in the 50s which is a big change from the recent warmth plus that northwest wind at 12 to 20 mph will make it feel even cooler.
But Monday should see a fairly quick warmup with highs back to the 70 mark once again after a chilly start with spots getting into the upper 30s. But the nice day will be short-lived with another system expected to impact us on Tuesday as another upper trough brings a surface low across the Plains and drags a front into the Southeast. Because the pattern is moving quickly, the rain should be out of here early Wednesday and a peek at the sun by afternoon.
But the second in a series of upper level short waves will impact us on Thursday bringing another round of rain and thunderstorms. That one will be followed by a third storm system late Saturday and Sunday. Of course, with the way things work, a small change in the speed of these systems could delay things slightly but it looks like a fairly active, wet week with short breaks between systems.
Voodoo doesn’t appear much different after a rather chilly April 6th-7th the GFS is suggesting a zonal flow pattern which will be mild but also fairly wet. But that is a long way out so we’ll see how it changes with time.
