New Tornado Watch
It’s the song that never ends…
A new tornado watch is out from our friends at the Storm Prediction Center.
It covers Central Alabama from roughly Greene County over to Tallapoosa down to Macon and then back to Wilcox and up to Greene….
Here are the official counties…Autauga, Bibb, Chilton, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Greene, Hale, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Sumter, Tallapoosa
The watch is cancelled for Barbour, Bullock, Chambers, Clay, Fayette, Jefferson, Lamar, Lee, Pickens, Pike, Russell, Shelby, Talladega, Tuscaloosa, Walker
An approaching upper level trough is providing increasing lift over Mississippi and Alabama. The approach of the surface low over eastern Mississippi will back surface winds and provide additional low level spin in the atmosphere for possible tornadoes with any storms that develop along and south of the boundary for the next several hours.
The boundary extends from south of Tuscaloosa into the Montgomery area. It will be lifting slowly northward until the low passes.
