Flooding, snow?
Another big-time rain event over Alabama, similar in some ways to the one in early January, continues early this morning. A few 6″ totals are likely by morning. 3.86″ so far here in Trussville, 3.93″ in Tuscaloosa.
Area rivers are rising. Flood warning already on the Tombigbee River, and the Warrior and Cahaba are rising quickly. Please be careful if you’re driving tonight or tomorrow morning…don’t cross water-covered roadways. Find another route.
4 main models are in (GEM, UKMET, NAM, GFS), and all 4 indicate 1″ of snow for BHM tomorrow night and Sunday. We still don’t know! Off to bed…headed to Mobile tomorrow for SeCAPS conference.
