Scattered thunderstorms continue to develop this afternoon with the most significant ones over the north third of the state. They were moving quickly toward the ENE. The strongest ones were along the Cullman/Morgan County line and extending over to near Guntersville in Marshall County. Others were over North Calhoun County, Eastern and
Southern Walker County and another one approaching North Tuscaloosa County. Those over South Walker County will be moving into Jefferson County shortly.

Meanwhile, a Tornado Watch continues for a large part of North and Central Alabama until 8:00 tonight. The Watch extends all the way southward to Tallapoosa and Montgomery Counties. All of the greater Birmingham area is included as well as the cities of Decatur, Huntsville, Ft. Payne, Gadsden, Anniston and Tuscaloosa–just to name a few.

We will continue to watch closely throughout the afternoon and evening.
