All across the Alabama countryside, all is quiet. Hardly a shower can be found.

Clouds persist but there should be breaks in the overcast later which will let the atmosphere become more unstable.

Already, temperatures have warmed into the 60s a great contrast to 24 hours ago when it was still sleeting over parts of the state.

Brisk SW winds are escorting increasing moisture into the state. Dew points over South Mississippi have climbed above 60.

A moderate risk of severe weather is still in effect for this afternoon and part of tonight for about the south 2/3rds of the state, roughly from Birmingham southward. Restof the state a slight risk.

Most active time will be at some point this afternoon extending into the evening. Tis a day when we all need to keep supplied with the latest weather information.

Storm Prediction Center is thinking of issuing a watch soon for part of North Tennessee and South Kentucky.
