End In Sight

At 3 p.m., things were calming down across Alabama. Not that they ever were seriously out of hand anyway, but we are thankful to have missed out on the kind of severe weather Oklahoma had yesterday.

A line of storms extends from east of Centre in Cherokee County sothwestward to near Jacksonville in Calhoun County to east of Lincoln to where it peters out near Childersburg.

Ahead of that, a line of showers extends from south of Heflin to east of Sylacauga to south of Clanton.

WATCH STATUS
Tornado Watch canceled for Chilton, Etowah, Shelby, St. Clair Counties.

Tornado Watch continues for Calhoun, Chambers, Cherokee, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Randolph, Talladega, Tallapoosa Counties till 5:00 PM CST

To the west of the precipitation, skies clear quickly and dewpoints are dropping like a rock. The DP at Birmingham is 48F, 38F in Tuscaloosa and 31F in Columbus MS.
