Biggest Full Moon in Last 15 Years – Tonight!
The full moon tonight will be a perigee, meaning it is at is closest point in its elliptical orbit around the Earth.
It will be closer than it has been in the last 15 years and it will not be this close again for 8 years. The moon is 222,000 miles away tonight.
You will see the difference this evening in a moon that is 14% wider and 30% brighter than the ordinary moons we have had this year.
