THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HUNTSVILLE HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AT ELEVATIONS OF 1200 FEET OR
HIGHER…WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST TODAY.
SNOWFALL EARLY THIS MORNING HAS ACCUMULATED TO SEVERAL TENTHS OF
AN INCH IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF NORTHEAST ALABAMA AND
SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE OCCURRING AT
ELEVATIONS OF 1200 FEET OR HIGHER WHERE AIR TEMPERATURES ARE AROUND
31 DEGREES. THE SNOW IS TURNING ROADWAYS SLUSHY AND SLICK…AND
IN SOME CASES REFREEZING INTO ICE. ICY CONDITIONS ARE MOST LIKELY
ON BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES. TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN AT OR JUST
BELOW FREEZING IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS THROUGH LATE MORNING
BEFORE WARMING TO ABOVE FREEZING.
BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
