Early (5 am) in Alabama

By the way, this is December 1 and the first day of winter the way weather people look at it. (December-January-February)

Feels winter like early on this Monday morning but very little snow flurries and snow showers overnight. Most of them at 5 am were gathered over the Extreme North and NE.

We had one report earlier this morning from Franklin County that there was a “good dusting” on the decks and grassy area.

NWS/Huntsville advises that snow accumulations of less than one half inch may accumulate mainly on higher elevations with highs in the upper 30s. This will be mainly over the Extreme North and NE. Some of the higher terrain is over NE Alabama such as Lookout Mountain and Sand Mountain.

Some light snow on yards and cars in Chelsea area also.

Not much going on at the moment. No travel problems and none expected.

Blustry and cold. Temperatures mostly in the 30s with brisk winds. NWS looks for winds to gust as high as 25-30 mph today.

Occasional snow showers will continue mainly this morning but not heavy enough to cause ant problems. At best, decks, cars and grassy area may briefly become white.

TWO SPOT REPORTS
Huntsville, 37, light snow shower
Haleyville 32, snow shower, wind chill 23.

Look for the regular morning video discussion from James soon after 6

We will be watching all day
