James mentioned this a few times, but since I have time and just moved from the area I’ll expand. I know it sounds odd that an Alabama county is covered by a weather service office in Florida. Many counties in Southeast Alabama are covered by the NWS in Tallahassee. They cover Henry, Houston, Coffee (where Enterprise is), Dale, and Geneva counties. When I was working in Dothan I had to work with 3 weather service offices; Mobile, Birmingham, and Tallahassee. Mobile covered Covington and Crenshaw in my viewing area. Birmingham covered Pike and Barbour, while Tallahassee took the rest along with my NW Florida and Georgia counties. It was certainly interesting during severe weather when a storm covered by one office was about to move into a county next door covered by a different office. They all handled it well and warnings moved smoothly from one county to another when needed.
