Evening Update on Hanna
She continues to wet down the Northeast this evening and she still has sustained winds close to 50 mph. She still has a distinct circulation.
The Big Apple was getting heavy rain this evening. Out on long Island, most stations were reporting heavy rain with winds close to 30 mph.
By mid-day Sunday, the center should be off the Maine Coast. Than Hanna will strike out across the colder waters of the North Atlantic and, amazingly she will pass between Northern Ireland and Iceland next Thursday. Of course not much of a tropical blood line by then.
We will try to post some rain totals from the Northeast later this evening.
Also look for an Ike update around 7 o’clock.
