Where is Gustav?

He is very easy to fine. At 6:30 pm, he was spinning like a huge top centered over the SW corner of Arkansas near El Dorado.

Not moving much.

While sitting there, he continues to suck worlds of moisture northward from the Gulf of Mexico. It shows up as spiral bands swirling northward into a circulation around the center.

Mainly feeling these strong spiral bands all day, Louisiana and Mississippi. A number of Tornado Warnings today in both states–and some Flash Flood Warnings too. Tornado Warning were still being issued this evening.

For the most part, Alabama has stayed out of the fray. This evening there were some widely scattered moderate to heavy showers moving toward the west and NW trying to join the party. A few of those had entered SE Alabama.
