From Caribou, Maine…
Thanks to LeeAnn Allegretto from the National Weather Service in Caribou, Maine for these images… LeeAnn is a guest on the new WeatherBrains episode for this week; you can listen to the show by using the player on the left sidebar of the blog. She writes:
“Hi James,
We spoke earlier for your on-air show, and I must say that I was happy to be a part of your show and was thrilled that so many people across the country have been following the crazy winter we’ve had here this season. :-)
As words are sometimes never enough, I’ve gone and attached some personal pictures that I’ve taken during the past couple of storms. These may give you a better idea as to what we’re dealing with up here! It should be noted that though the snow stake you see in the pictures is only at 34 inches, most places around the area (away from the open areas of the airport next to us) are showing about 4 feet. The other pictures are a glance at the office and our parking lot – as you had asked “where are you putting all the snow?” – haha… Here’s what we’re managing to do at this time!
Also attached are two photos taken from a local Maine photographer who has been doing the same thing these past months (they are labeled with his name, so to give him proper credit).
Thanks again for the interview, and keep watching for more excitement from the great north! We’ve still got all of April to go. :-)”
