WARM SPRING WEATHER: Alabama’s weather will stay quiet through mid-week with partly to mostly sunny days and only isolated afternoon and evening showers or storms. Highs will hold in the mid 80s, about 5-7 degrees above average for late April.
Alabama will stay warm and mostly dry through Wednesday with only a few isolated showers, but a stronger system will bring increasing chances of rain and thunderstorms by Thursday and Friday.

A warm and mostly dry start to the week will give way to increasing storm chances by Thursday and Friday, followed by a shot of much cooler air just in time for the first weekend of May.
As of 2pm, we have a few isolated showers out there, mainly over the west and southwestern parts of the state, while the rest is dry with mostly cloudy skies.
Gov. Kay Ivey has awarded more than $6.2 million to help low-income residents in Alabama reduce their home energy bills through the Weatherization Assistance Program.
We’re waking up to some patchy dense fog, especially across West Alabama, mainly in the Tombigbee River basin area. A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect through 9 AM — so if you’re traveling, allow a little extra time and drive carefully. After the fog lifts, we’ll enjoy a pretty warm day with a few isolated storms possible later on.
A severe thunderstorm over Marion is racing northeast with the potential to produce 60 mph winds across parts of central Alabama through 5:45 PM.
Other than the races at Talladega, there is plenty to see and do across the state in this week’s Can’t Miss Alabama.
RADAR CHECK: An organized batch of rain and thunderstorms continues to push into West and North Alabama early this afternoon ahead of a short wave in the upper atmosphere. The rain will continue to progress across the state this afternoon and early tonight mainly over the northern 2/3 of the state.
Showers and storms are once again on the radar today, and through the afternoon and evening, these will increase in coverage. However, they will remain scattered in nature and many locations will remain dry, while other locations will see brief, heavy downpours.
