DRY DAYS: After a sub-freezing start, look for a high in the 48-55 degree range across Alabama this afternoon with a good supply of sunshine. Dry weather continues for the rest of the week with a slow warming trend; we reach the upper 50s and low 60s by Friday.
DRY, PLEASANT AFTERNOON: The rain that was over South Alabama this morning has mostly moved out of the state; the sky is mostly sunny with temperatures in the 50s. The exception is the southeast corner of the state, where Dothan reports mid 40s with lingering clouds at mid-afternoon.
We are seeing a clearing sky this afternoon and temperatures are in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Tonight, colder air arrives in Alabama, expect lows in the low to mid 20s tomorrow morning.

RADAR CHECK: Light rain is falling in spots over the southern half of Alabama this morning, otherwise clouds cover much of the state with temperatures in the 35-45 degree range. The rain will end across South Alabama by midday, and drier, colder air rolls into the state tonight.
After a frosty morning under clear skies, visible satellite imagery has some beautiful looks at leftover snow cover over North and North Central Alabama.
A quiet weather week is ahead for Central Alabama, starting with frigid conditions and patchy freezing fog this morning, followed by a brief rain event Sunday night into Monday mainly over South Alabama and a gradual midweek warm-up.
Black ice possible once again tonight, mainly on secondary/back roads and across northern AL
We have a mix of sun and clouds out there at this late morning hour as of 10:40AM, and ice should be melting away on the roadways at this point.

Alabama shifts to a dry pattern today after snow and icy conditions, with a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for North Alabama until 10 AM. Warmer afternoons and sunshine return gradually, but freezing nights persist through the week.

Icy roads reported across parts of the area. Additional black ice expected as temperatues continue to drop.
