WINDY MARCH DAY: Strong south winds will gust to 30 mph across much of Alabama today ahead of a cold front; a wind advisory is in effect for areas along and north of I-20. Temperatures reach the upper 70s today in most areas with a mix of sun and clouds.
SUNNY, MILD MARCH DAY: Temperatures are mostly in the 74-79 degree range across Alabama today with sunshine in full supply. Tonight will be clear with lows in the 40s and low 50s.
ANOTHER COLD START: A few of the colder pockets across North Alabama are below freezing this morning; many other have frost with temperatures in the low to mid 30s. South Alabama communities are in the 40s at daybreak. Expect a big warm-up today… with sunshine in full force we reach the 70s this afternoon.
SUNNY MONDAY: Not a cloud in the sky across Alabama this afternoon with a very dry airmass in place; temperatures are in the 50s over the northern counties, with 60s to the south.
COOL: We actually have a few colder spots in the low to mid 30s across North Alabama early this morning with a clear sky; we are forecasting a high today in the 58-65 degree range with sunshine in full supply. We note the average high for Birmingham on March 17 is 67.
