Currently employed at CIMMS and the NSSL, our guest WeatherBrain is a graduate student at the University of Oklahoma studying communications and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology from Texas A&M University. Welcome Joseph Trujillo.
This week’s show is about communications between meteorologists and emergency managers. Rebecca DePodwin (private sector meteorologist with a passion for crisis & risk communication) and Kyle Nelson (meteorologist and emergency management professional with a specialty for blending weather, social media, and pubic safety) are our guests.
This week’s guests include Gary Woodall (Warning Coordination Meteorologist, NWS Memphis, TN) and Leah Hill (Oklahoma Weather Labs Director of Operations, Deputy Director of the New Student Mentoring Program, a member of the OU Nightly Weather Team, and Senior Representative to the OU School of Meteorology Student Affairs Committee).
On this week’s show, our guests include Dr. Harold Brooks of the National Severe Storms Laboratory and Dr. Victor Gensini of Northern Illinois University.
This week’s WeatherBrain is Tim Heller. Tim has been a broadcast meteorologist for 35 years, with the past 25 years in Top 10 markets including Houston and Dallas Texas. In January 2019, he retired from television, but started his own business titled “Heller Weather LLC”. This business helps local TV stations maximize their weather resources and build stronger brands.
