Midday Nowcast: Phenomenal Fall Weather through the Weekend
The clouds over northern sections of Alabama will mix out the rest of today. Today and through the weekend, expect sunny pleasant days and clear chilly nights.
CLEAR, COOL FALL DAY: We have a cloudless sky across Alabama this afternoon with temperatures in the 60s. Tonight will be the coldest night so far this season with lows in the 30s for North Alabama; 40s the the southern counties.
CRISP FALL DAY: Colder spots over North Alabama are in the 30s early this morning with a clear sky… otherwise we have temperatures in the 40s and 50s across the state at daybreak. Expect a sunny sky today with a high in the 60s for most places, some South Alabama communities will see low 70s.
FINE FALL DAY: Temperatures are mostly in the 60s and 70s across Alabama this afternoon with a partly to mostly sunny sky. A secondary push of cool air arrives tonight with some clouds and a north breeze.
FALL FEEL: Temperatures are mostly in the 40s over North Alabama early this morning, but we do note that Gadsden and Fort Payne are reporting 39 degrees just before daybreak. We are seeing 50s over the southern half of the state, but Mobile remains the warmest spot with low 60s
SEVERE CLEAR: Not a cloud in the Alabama sky this afternoon; temperatures are in the 65-70 degree range for most places. Tonight will clear and cool with a low in the 40s.
It is a beautiful, sunny day across Alabama, and after the chilly start to the day, temperatures are rising into the upper 60s and lower 70s this afternoon, which are 5-10 degrees below average for this time of year.
THURSDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND: We will mention the chance of a few widely scattered showers Thursday, otherwise the weather will likely stay dry through the weekend with a warming trend continuing. The high Thursday will be between 77 and 81, followed by low to mid 80s statewide Friday through Sunday.
RADAR CHECK: Showers continue to rotate through the northern half of Alabama this afternoon as an upper trough moves through. Otherwise it is mostly, breezy, and cool with temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Showers will end this evening, and the sky becomes mostly clear tonight.
Today is another gorgeous day of weather with sunny, but cool conditions with highs in the mid 60s. Tonight, growers beware, temperatures fall into the 30s, we are likely to see areas of patchy frost across North and Central Alabama; protect any sensitive vegetation.
