Today is a sunny, cool day with a high in the mid 50s across North Alabama with mid 60s across South Alabama. Average high for Birmingham today is 68°, we will be a good 8-10 degrees below that this afternoon.
COOL MARCH DAY: Temperatures are generally in the 58-63 degree range across Alabama this afternoon… we note the average high for Birmingham on March 11 is 66. A few clouds are over the southern half of the state, but the low levels remain very dry.
COOL DAY: While we could see a few intervals of sun today, clouds will linger in many areas with a high in the 50s this afternoon. The average high for Birmingham on Leap Day (February 29) is 63. A few scattered sprinkles of rain are possible during the day, but rain becomes more likely across Alabama tonight and tomorrow as a wave aloft approaches from the west.
DRY AIR RETURNS: The sky is clear across West Alabama early this morning; lingering clouds over the eastern 2/3 of the state will move out soon, and today will be a sunny, cool day with a high in the 50s for most communities. Tonight will be clear with a low in the 30s and low 40s.
RY, COOL WEATHER CONTINUES: A new surge of cool, dry air works into Alabama today; highs today will be in the low to mid 50s for most communities with a good supply of sunshine. A freeze is likely for the northern half of the state early tomorrow with temperatures in the upper 20s and low 30s. By Friday highs will return to the 60s with a partly sunny sky.
DRY THROUGH FRIDAY: Alabama’s weather won’t change much through Friday. Today will feature a sunny sky with a high in the upper 50s over the northern third of the state, with low to mid 60s over South Alabama. A surge of cooler air will drop into the state tomorrow; highs will be in the 50s statewide. A freeze is likely early Thursday across North/Central Alabama
PLEASANT NOVEMBER AFTERNOON: The sky is mostly sunny across Alabama this afternoon with temperatures in the 60s. The sky will stay clear tonight with temperatures down in the 34-44 degree range by daybreak tomorrow.
RADAR CHECK: We have a few sprinkles over the northern half of Alabama early this morning just before sunrise… those will end soon and the rest of the day will be dry. Clouds this morning will give way to gradual afternoon clearing with a high in the 57-64 degree range across the state.
THIS AFTERNOON: Clouds are increasing across Alabama this afternoon ahead of a weak surface low in the northern Gulf of Mexico. Temperatures are in the 50s, about 7-10 degrees below average for November 23.
With a good supply of sunshine, we project high in the 50s over the northern 2/3 of the state today, with low 60s to the south. Clouds will increase tonight ahead of a disturbance in the northern Gulf, and a few sprinkles/patches of light rain are possible across the central and southern counties. Most places won’t see a drop with very limited moisture.
Today will be a sunny, cool day with a high in the 50s over North Alabama, with 60s to the south. A freeze warning has been issued for tonight for all of Alabama, with the exception of communities south of I-10 in Mobile and Baldwin counties. The wind is expected to go calm statewide, with a clear sky. Lows early tomorrow will be in the 25-35 degree range.
COOL OCTOBER DAY: Temperatures are in the 50s and 60s across Alabama this afternoon… the sky is sunny over the western and southern counties, but clouds linger in many areas north and east of Birmingham. Tonight will be fair and cool with a low in the 40s, but a few of the colder spots over North Alabama could see upper 30s.
