Sun, clouds, hot temperatures, and high humidity, it looks and feels like mid-July in Alabama. Scattered showers and storms have been ongoing through the morning hours, but through the afternoon and evening hours, expect the coverage of rain and storms to increase.
Routine summer weather is in the forecast with partly sunny, hot, humid days with the usual risk of scattered showers and storms on a daily basis generally during the afternoon and evening hours.
Scattered showers and storms remain in the forecast today, with the higher coverage over southern portions of the state. It is not as hot this afternoon with highs only in the upper 80s with some low 90s.
The main threat will come from strong straight line winds and hail; there is an almost zero tornado threat. Most of the showers and stronger storms will come this afternoon and early tonight. While we wait on the storms, it is another blistering hot day with upper 90s and low 100s covering Alabama.
A check of the radar late this morning shows a few ongoing showers across Central and East Alabama, but nothing too heavy or widespread. Throughout the rest of today, expect very warm and muggy conditions with highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s.

Some afternoon storms are possible as a cold front approaches, and some of these storms could be strong producing damaging wind gusts and hail. It is not going to storm everywhere, as these will be mainly over the southern third of the state, along and south of Montgomery.
Late this morning, we are watching a cluster of showers ands storms over northern portions of Alabama. These aren’t moving much, but we are likely to see additional showers and storms develop across the Alabama landscape through the afternoon hours.
Large areas of rain and storms continue to move through the state today, including stronger thunderstorms across the southern third of the state. For now, the more intense activity is over the southern half of the state. For the rest of today, tonight, and through tomorrow, rain and storms will remain in the forecast for Alabama.

Today we are seeing a mix of sun and clouds and very warm temperatures with temperatures well into the mid and upper 80s this afternoon. Scattered, random showers and storms will once again be on the radar this afternoon and evening across the state.
A major severe weather outbreak is expected today and tonight across the Plains. Multiple strong, long-tracked tornadoes, as well as very large hail and severe thunderstorms gusts are expected.
