HOT AUGUST WEATHER: Temperatures are in the 90 across Alabama this afternoon with a mostly sunny sky. A few isolated showers are over the Baldwin County and into the Florida Panhandle; those will dissipate after dark. Tonight will be mostly fair with a low in the 68-74 degree range.
Highs will be in the upper 90s and low 100s across Alabama today and tomorrow as we remain under a strong upper ridge. The weather will be generally dry both days.
HOT: Highs will remain in the 90s across Alabama through Friday as hot late summer weather continues. Any showers today and tomorrow should be confined to the far southern counties of the state, and even there most places will stay dry.
SUNNY AFTERNOON: Temperatures are mostly in the low to mid 90s over the western 2/3 of Alabama this afternoon, but some places across the eastern counties are holding in the upper 80s. The sky is mostly sunny…. tonight will be fair with a low in the 67-73 degree range.
Highs will be in the mid to upper 90s, while some spots are likely to reach 100 degree mark Wednesday over North and West Alabama under a strong upper ridge. The weather will be generally dry through Wednesday.
HEAT LEVELS RISING: Alabama’s weather will be generally dry through Wednesday with mostly sunny hot afternoon and fair nights. Highs will be in the 90s; a few spots could touch the 100 degree mark Wednesday over North and West Alabama under a strong upper ridge.
RADAR CHECK: As expected, we have widely scattered showers and strong thunderstorms across Alabama at mid-afternoon. So far storms have remained below severe limits, and away from the storms temperatures are in the 90s with a partly sunny sky.
This afternoon and evening an approaching front will cause showers and thunderstorms to increase over the northern third of the state.
HOT SUMMER DAY AHEAD: Most places will experience a high in the mid 90s today with a partly sunny sky. A few scattered showers and storms will form in the heat of the day this afternoon and early tonight; SPC maintains a “marginal risk” (level 1/5) of severe thunderstorms for the northern third of the state.
RADAR CHECK: We have a few small, isolated showers across Alabama this afternoon moving southward. But, most of the state is dry with temperatures generally in the low to mid 90s. Showers will end this evening; tonight will be mostly fair with a low in the 70s.
RADAR CHECK: We have a few isolated showers early this morning on radar over Northwest Alabama and Northeast Mississippi moving southward; these will most likely dissipate over the next few hours. Additional scattered showers could form later today or tonight, but odds of any one spot seeing rain remain in the 20 percent range.
For today and tomorrow highs will be in the mid 90s across much of the state. Rain chances are near zero each day as well, but an isolated, pop-up shower or storm is always possible.
