COLDER AIR DROPPING SOUTHWARD: Clouds linger across much of Alabama this afternoon, but the rain is gone and we will be dry for the next 5-6 days. Temperatures this afternoon range from the 40s across the Tennessee Valley, to the 60s across the southern counties of the state.
The rain and storms are out of here and the cold front is making its way through the state. This afternoon, temperatures are falling as a much drier and colder air mass blows into the state.
RADAR CHECK: A line of showers and thunderstorms is pushing into South Alabama early this Thanksgiving morning ahead of a cold front. The storms were well behaved overnight, remaining below severe limits. There is a “marginal risk” (level 1/5) for South Alabama this morning, but the overall threat remains very low.
It is a dry and nice day of weather across Alabama as we are seeing a mix of sun and clouds and afternoon highs are in the upper 60s to low 70s. Tonight, a strong cold front will bring rain and storms back to Alabama and a few strong storms are possible after midnight.
The rain is out of here and the sky is clearing this afternoon across Alabama. It is a cooler day with afternoon temperatures ranging from the upper 50s to upper 60s.
Sunshine, blue sky, and below average temperatures highlight the forecast for today and tomorrow. Highs today will not make it out of the 50s and with a brisk north wind, it feels chillier.
DRY DAYS: The sky is mostly sunny across Alabama this afternoon with a cool north breeze. Tonight will be clear and colder with a low in 36-44 degree range.
The cold front is moving through the state today and the sky continues to clear. Highs today are in the upper 60s and lower 70s, but a brisk north wind is blowing in a colder air mass that we will feel tonight, and the rest of the week.
Colder air is blowing into Alabama today. The sky is clearing and we have a brisk north wind blowing in those colder temperatures as highs today are holding in the 50s for most locations. The sky will clear tonight and the winds will relax and temperatures will take a tumble.
FREEZE WARNING: Colder air rolls into Alabama today along with a brisk north wind. Temperatures will hold in the 50s over the northern half of the state despite a mostly sunny sky. A freeze warning is in effect tonight for most of Alabama, as far south as Jackson, Brewton, Troy, and Eufaula.
RADAR CHECK: The line of showers along the cold front at mid-afternoon runs from near Thomasville to Prattville to Lafayette. Behind the front, temperatures are in the 50s, while low 80s are reported across the southeast corner of Alabama. The front will continue to move southward this afternoon, and all of the Deep South will be in the colder air tonight.
A cold front is moving through Alabama bringing a band of showers and storms. At this writing of this forecast, the line of storms was stretching from Scottsboro to Cullman to Fayette and it continues to move south and east through the state quickly.
SHARP COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH TODAY: Just before sunrise temperatures are in the upper 60s across much of Alabama with a cloudy sky and gusty south wind. A sharp cold front will move through the state today with a few showers, and possibly a thunderstorm.
RADAR CHECK: Heavier showers and a few thunderstorms are pushing through Southeast Alabama this afternoon; a few stray showers are over the central counties of the state. But, the sky has started to clear over West Alabama, and that clearing will continue this evening as dry air pushes into the state.
