RADAR CHECK: Rain is confined to the far southern part of Alabama this afternoon; the sky has cleared over the northern counties. Rain over South Alabama ends this evening, and the sky becomes mostly fair statewide late tonight.
Most of the rain has ended across the northern half of Alabama, and through the afternoon hours, the sky will clear from northwest to southeast. Areas of rain continue across South Alabama, but this will come to an through the evening hours.
RADAR CHECK: Rain is widespread across Alabama early this morning along and south of I-59; there are few heavier storms over the southern counties, but they are well below severe limits. We note SPC (NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center) maintains a low end “marginal risk” of severe thunderstorms for far South Alabama and along the Gulf Coast today… a few storms there could produce small hail and gusty winds.
SUNNY DAY: Temperatures are in the 50s and 60s across Alabama this afternoon with sunshine in full supply tonight. Tonight will be clear and chilly, but not as cold last night.
After the frosty start to the day, we are basking under a sky full of sunshine across Alabama today. Temperatures this afternoon are climbing into the low and mid 60s for much of North and Central and South Alabama.
With a sunny sky, temperatures rebound into the 60s across Alabama today.
WINDY, COLD FIRST DAY OF SPRING: Clouds are over the northern 2/3 of Alabama this afternoon with temperatures only in the 40s in many areas; a strong north wind is making it feel colder. We have a few sprinkles on radar… even a little sleet in spots.
Clouds are hanging tough today, and we are seeing some light rain in pocket across the northern third of Alabama, also, we are feeling a chilly north breeze. Temperature today are in the 40s and lower 50.
BREEZY AND MUCH COOLER: Alabama’s weather will be breezy and much cooler today; the sky will be occasionally cloudy over the northern half of the state with temperatures holding in the 40s along with a few spotty showers. The sky become sunny over South Alabama with a high in the 50s.
MILD, WINDY DAY: The sky is sunny over much of Alabama this afternoon with a gusty south wind, but clouds are increasing over the northwest counties ahead of a cold front.
It is a breezy and warm Wednesday across Alabama and we have a wind advisory for areas north and west of Birmingham where winds could gust to 35 mph. We are seeing clouds increase today with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s.
WINDY MARCH DAY: Strong south winds will gust to 30 mph across much of Alabama today ahead of a cold front; a wind advisory is in effect for areas along and north of I-20. Temperatures reach the upper 70s today in most areas with a mix of sun and clouds.
SUNNY, MILD MARCH DAY: Temperatures are mostly in the 74-79 degree range across Alabama today with sunshine in full supply. Tonight will be clear with lows in the 40s and low 50s.
After the chilly start to the day, it is a gorgeous spring day across Alabama. Highs are surging into the low and mid 70s this afternoon under a sky full of sunshine.
