Storms Not Severe Across Central Alabama; Watching Mississippi Storms for Wind/Hail

An S-shaped line of heavy showers and storms extends fro near Ragland in St. Clair County tojust eat of Sylacauga to Rockford back to Verbena to Billinsgley and then to Valley Grande in Dallas County.

Lots of lightning reported around Sylacauga, but none of the storms are severe at this time.

Lightning is also heavy across Chilton County back into Dallas County.

There are numerous reports of high winds across the area, even outside of thunderstorms.

There is a tornado warning for Southeast Alabama around Dothan as well as a severe thunderstorm warning for Geneva County. Otherwise no warnings in Alabama.

From the NWS: A wake low appears to be generating strong winds from the Birmingham metro northeast through Blount/Etowah counties and may be affecting Cullman/Marshall/DeKalb counties in the next 30-45 minutes. Gusts of 40-50 mph possible. Trees and powerlines may be downed with these winds. A wind advisory remains in effect.

In Mississippi, there are severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect for the areas around Louisville and Starkville as well as along I-20 east of Jackson in the Forest area. These storms will affect West Central Alabama between 1-2 a.m. There have been reports of wind damage and hail with them.
