Flash Flood Warning for Fayette, Tuscaloosa, Walker & SW Jefferson Counties

Intense rainfall has fallen over parts of Fayette, Tuscaloosa, Walker, and Southwestern Jefferson Counties. Radar indicates that 3-6 inches of rain has fallen from Elrod to Samantha to Gorgas. Heavy rain is still occurring in these areas.

Life threatening flooding is occurring all over north and north-central Alabama today.

* AT 542 PM CST…MULTIPLE THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN
ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. UP TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAVE ALREADY
FALLEN IN THE PAST HOUR IN SOME LOCATIONS. FLASH FLOODING IS
EXPECTED TO BEGIN SHORTLY.

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE WARNED
AREA.

THIS INCLUDES INTERSTATE 20 BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 73 AND 76.
